FAQs

Here's everything you need to know

  • NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient): This is a scalar representation of the amount of sound energy absorbed upon striking a particular surface. NRC is a number between 0 and 1. A higher NRC means better sound absorption. Modern Made panels have an NRC of 0.85
  • SAA (Sound Absorption Average): This is another measure of sound absorption, very similar to NRC. It is calculated using a slightly different set of frequency ranges compared to NRC. Like NRC, SAA is also a number between 0 and 1, and a higher number indicates better sound absorption. Modern Made panels have an SAA of 0.88
  • Based on these ratings, Modern Made panels absorb an estimated 85%-88% of sound, making them highly effective for sound absorption applications. They would work well in environments where reducing noise and echo is a priority, such as in auditoriums, home theaters, or office spaces.
  • Where are your products made? Our products are not just designed in the golden state of California but are handcrafted with precision and love in Lafayette, Louisiana. It is here that our skilled artisans and craftsmen work passionately to transform American timber into pieces of art, giving utmost importance to quality, durability, and sustainability.
Yes, easily removable depending on application method. In most cases, you can simply unscrew the panels from the wall.
The standard slat panels are 1 inch wide and spaced by 1/2 inch between each panel.
Our slats are constructed from MDF with veneer finish, affixed to high quality felt backing produced from recycled material.
